Born in Houston

Via 313 started with a simple obsession: bringing the real, unapologetic flavors of Detroit-style pizza to the people of Houston. Founded by brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt, the name itself is a nod to Detroit's area code — a tribute to the city that inspired everything.

"We didn't set out to open a restaurant. We just wanted to share the pizza we grew up eating — and Houston fell in love with it."

What makes Detroit-style pizza unique? It's the rectangular steel pan, the crispy caramelized cheese crust, the sauce laid on top of the cheese — and most importantly, the care that goes into every single pie. At Via 313, we've never compromised on that.

From our humble trailer beginnings to our brick-and-mortar home on N Shepherd Drive, we've stayed true to our roots: bold flavors, quality ingredients, and pizza that makes people come back every single time.

How We Got Here

2012

The Idea is Born

Brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt, homesick for Detroit pizza, decide to bring the square pan pie to Austin. The concept is scrawled on a napkin over beers.

2013

Trailer Life Begins

Via 313 launches as a food trailer in Austin, TX. Lines form around the block from week one. Houstonians start making the drive just to try the pizza.

2015

First Brick & Mortar

The first permanent location opens in Austin. Expanding the team, refining the recipe, and cementing Via 313 as a Texas institution.

2018

Award-Winning Pizza

Named one of the best pizza restaurants in Texas by multiple food publications. The Detroit-style craze takes hold across the Lone Star State.

2021

Houston, We Have Pizza

Via 313 opens its Houston location at 1541 N Shepherd Dr — bringing the Motor City magic to the Bayou City for the first time.

2024

Growing the Family

Expanding the Houston team, launching new seasonal menus, and deepening roots in the community. The best is still ahead — and it's square.
